Week 4: Infused Classroom- Jamboard

 This week I looked at Holly Clark's blog  Infused Classroom  and her review of the tool Jamboard.  What is Jamboard ? Jamboard ca n transform your in-per son or online classroom because it focuses on collaboration. Jamboard is a whiteboard platform through g oogle. In Holly Clark's blog she states, " Jamboard is a great app suited for  the power of flexibility in the sticky notes and the ability to move objects more easily ." Her blog also talks about how educators can use  Jamboard  to provide feedback to  students and  have  students  share thoughts with  one another. Jamboard allows for multiple users to be on the white board at the same time, allowing students to interact with their peers thoughts and ideas. This tool can allow teachers to quickly assesses and monitor all of their students work while they are working live. Week 4: New Tool- Seesaw

  What is Seesaw ?  Seesaw is a platform that helps support student engagement, collaboration and family connections. This resource was designed for teachers to share activities, links, videos and more with students. With Seesaw teachers can communicate with students and families through announcements and individual posts. The basic version of this platform is free for educators and students. This is a tool that can transform your classroom whether you are remote or in-person. If you try it out and like it, Seesaw is definitely worth paying the extra money to upgrade.  How does it work? The first step when using Seesaw is to create your class page. Teachers can upload their students names and create their individual account. From there teachers have a few options, they can create their own activities from scratch or use templates of activities that have been already made by other educators. Infused Classroom: Review of Canva

This week I looked at Holly Clark's blog Infused Classroom and her review of the tool Canva.  What is Canva ? Canva is a graphic design platform that can bring the posters in your classroom to life and increase student engagement. Through Canva you or your students can use pre-made templates to create posters, presentations, brochures and more! With your creation you can upload pictures, videos and music to customize your work and make it your own. The work you create on Canva can be shared to both Google and Microsoft platforms.  Can I use Canva in the classroom?  The first thought I had when reading Clark's blog about Canva was is this worth it? I currently do not spend a lot of time creating posters or anchor charts in my room because I create so many different ones throughout the week. New Tool: Nearpod

  What is Nearpod !?  Nearpod is a tool that educators can use to make their lessons more interactive. Teachers create lessons and students can access the lesson and interact with it on their personal devices. This resource is compatible with Google, Microsoft and Clever making it easy to incorporate into the classroom. It allows teachers to formally assess students by having features such as polls, collaboration boards, quizzes and open ended discussion questions. When using nearpod in your class it enhances student engagement and participation. It is very easy to personalize your nearpod lessons and fit them into your everyday routine.  How does it work? When starting with nearpod you have two options: you can either create slides on nearpod or you can easily upload pre-made slides from google. Infused Classroom: Review of Wakelet

This week I looked at Holly Clark's blog  Infused Classroom   and her review of the tool Wakelet.   What is Wakelet ?      Wakelet is a tool that educators can use to compile a variety of different resources. Clark compared it to a Pinterest board. Users can create a "collection" and upload videos, links, PDF's, images and more! Wakelet allows for all of these resources to be found in one place as oppose to having to send students all the resources and tools separately. In addition, this website appears to be very user friendly. Once you are finished creating a collection, it can easily be shared to a your Teams page or Google Classroom. Lastly, teachers can allow students to become contributors to the collection and they can upload any resources that they found to be helpful! New Tool: Kahoot!

What is Kahoot !?  Kahoot! is a game-based online learning platform. It is a user friendly tool that allows teachers to quickly create different quizzes. The program allows users to ask multiple choice and true or false questions. It also allows users to create different polls. Khoot! is very customizable. Users can determine the length someone has to answer the question and can include pictures and videos. While you can upgrade Kahoot! and receive more question variety, the free version has everything a teacher would need for an interactive and fun experience for their class.  How does it work? User can either choose from templates that Kahoot! provides or create their own. When creating a Kahoot! users pick the style of question, how long they would like participants to have when answering and how many points it would be worth in the game.
